an increase in induced abortions over the 7 year time period. Ulster and
Sullivan Counties report significantly higher abortion rates than Orange

| From 2001-2004, live births in Orange County showed a steady increase as compared to the total number of pregnancies. Ulster County reported a slight decrease during 2002, however, Ulster and Sullivan show relatively consistent rates over four year period. |

| Pregnancies to females under the age of 19 years old and between the ages of 40-44 are less likely to result in a live birth than those pregnancies to other age groups. |

| The percentage of live births to total pregnancies is significantly higher in Orange, Ulster and Sullivan Counties than the New York State Average. The difference is attributable to the lower number percentage of induced abortions in these counties as compared to the NY state average. Spontaneous Fetals Deaths are also reported at a lower rate than the state average in all three counties. |
