DID YOU KNOW….
MISN’s Community Health Advocates (CHA) program offers free presentations and trainings to educate New Yorkers on many aspects of health insurance. These presentations are offered to raise awareness of health care issues and educate people about their rights in the health care system in New York.
Since 2010, MISN’s CHA program has conducted over 89 presentations, educating over 1484 consumers about the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and health insurance options.
A CHA representative can come to your site to provide information on many topics, including:
Eligibility and Enrollment for Public Health Insurance
Consumer Rights in Managed Care
ACA: What’s in health care reform for me?
Introduction to CHA
Options for the Uninsured
Hospital Financial Assistance
Managed Long Term Care
Prescription Assistance Programs
For additional information and/or to schedule a FREE presentation, please call 845-561-3575 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), women will no longer need to worry about getting much of the preventive health care they need because of the costs associated.
A new provision in the ACA went into effect August 1, 2012, which requires all new health plans to cover the following services without co-pays or deductibles:
• Well-woman visits
• Gestational diabetes screening
• HPV DNA testing
• STI counseling, and HIV screening and counseling
• Contraception and contraceptive counseling
• Breastfeeding support, supplies, and counseling
• Domestic violence screening
For additional information or to schedule a FREE information session, please call MISN Community Health Advocates (CHA):
